The brief to convert this 1926 Grade II listed building into a multi-purpose music venue, whilst retaining the original character, gave us the chance to create sound and lighting systems that are a match for any venue nationwide. Utilising Martin Audio Line array technology and amplification to suit, complete with digital Consoles for both front of House and on-stage monitoring, a state of the art ROBE lighting system comprising a motorised four truss design to hang the 30 strong moving head lighting effects controlled by an Avolites Digital lighting console, we created and programmed a venue achieving national recognition and praise for its’ facilities, indeed winning the “live music venue of the year” award. With an interior design by Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen the sound and lighting systems were installed sympathetically so as not to detract from the overall scheme. Two years in the making we are justly proud of this project, doubly so as it is in our home town.
